Every season must come to an end. Sadly it is the Mishawaka Girls Basketball seasons turn. The team had a winning season at 13-8, however it didn't end the way they wanted. The girls played their last game in the sectional against Laporte and lost 41-51. The Lady Cavemen and coaches are very proud of all of the hard work that was put in this season. There was a lot of progress made and more that can be made next season. Seniors- Queen Walker, Lauren Grewe, Brooklyn Marrs, Alicia Prescott, Haley Van Dusen, and Zoe Morey- we’re all proud of our team even with the loss. Grewe said “It’s been 11 years with Mishawaka basketball and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The people I met and played with were the best.” Grewe will be continuing her basketball career as a Lady Pilot at Bethel College. Many of the underclassmen are already looking forward to next season and using all of the skills that have been passed down from previous years and this season as well. The team will not get too long of a break though, summer league will kick off in the spring and run throughout the summer.

A special thanks to all of the Mishawaka girls basketball coaches and staff. Most of all a special thanks to the Mishawaka Lady Cavemen Basketball Team for a great season. We cannot wait to see what is in store for next season. Go Cavemen!
