Bouncing Back

Tuesday November 10th the girls’ basketball team kicked off their season against Northridge.

The starters were Lauren Grewe at point guard (12), Alivia Jahamiack at shooting guard (10), Lizzy Ashburn at forward (10), Regan Freitag at forward (11) and Camron Schultheis at guard (11). There have been recent changes to the coaching staff. Currently Coach Kevin Gradeless is still head coach and Mrs. Harkins as the JV coach. Coach Kat is the new assistant coach. Coach Sheldon is the new freshman coach. Sadly the Lady Cavemen came up short losing with a score of 44 to 56. On Saturday, November the 14th, the Lady Cavemen went head to head with Chesterton. In the 1st quarter the starters got off to a slow start. In the third quarter, the Chesterton coach got a technical for attempting to throw a rug at the referee. After being asked to stay in his box, the referee called a technical. The start of the fourth, both teams were exchanging baskets. In the final minutes of the game, the Lady Cavemen pulled off a

win 45 to 44. On Tuesday November 17th, the Lady Cavemen faced Washington. The game was a “thriller to watch!” a spectator commented as the game pushed ahead. The Cavemen had a

disappointing defeat against Washington last season and came back for revenge. The whole gym was fired up to see the potential outcome of the game. The Cavemen were up practically the whole game and went on to win 71 to 61. On Saturday November 20th, the Cavemen will host New Prairie. Go Lady Cavemen!
