On this day, twenty years ago, terrorist group "Al-Qaeda" lead four arial terrorist attacks on the United States, sending two hijacked aircrafts into the World Trade Center, one aircraft into the Pentagon in Washington DC , and the fourth aircraft into a field in Pennsylvania. These attacks not only took nearly 3,000 lives including those within the planes, inside the twin towers, and those at the Pentagon, but many emergency workers in the act of saving others. Few bodies were recovered and those recovered were unable to be identified- leaving the families of the victims without closure. To this day, authorities are still identifying remains and helping bring peace to families.
Please take a moment of silence today to respect those that were lost twenty years ago.
