Mishawaka Softball Preview

The Mishawaka High School Softball Season is starting up and the girls are in full swing. They have been working hard all winter long and are ready to step up to the plate. Seniors- Payton Huling, Abby Ryor, Rachel Wiseman, and Maddie Yost- are leading the Lady Cavemen this season and are ready to play ball.

Wiseman expressed her hopes for the season and what she expects out of her teammates,“I know the upcoming softball season will be exciting. Hopefully our chemistry will continue on from last year. Even though we lost some of our favorite seniors at the end of last season, I have high hopes! As a senior captain, I just want everyone to have fun, and I really want to win.”

Three year Varsity member Lena Tirotta is also looking forward to the upcoming season, “I would say I think we’re going to have a great season as long as the team works together, and we stay positive.”

Cassidy Challberg, Varsity Sophomore, says, “This upcoming season is going to be a lot different from last year… We are going to have a younger group of girls this season, which will be great for the coming years. We have put in a ton of hard work this offseason and that will hopefully pay off in the long run!”

Returning to coach the team this year is Brian Miller, assisted by Erica Weaver.

The season officially begins on March 23 at home against Lakeland, continuing throughout May and potentially into June.

Come out to Ward Baker Park and support your Lady Caveman Softball Team!
