The Mishawaka High School Thespian Society closed out their performance year this past weekend with their rendition of Bob Martin and Don McKellar’s show-within-a-show, The Drowsy Chaperone.
After months of rehearsal and construction, the cast and crew of The Drowsy Chaperone put on three fantastic performances this past weekend. A parody of 1920s musicals, The Drowsy Chaperone features a man, known as the Man in Chair (portrayed by Collin Schroeder), as he narrates his favorite musical about a wedding gone awry. With breakups, make-ups, and newfound couples throughout a number of songs and choreographed movements, the musical was a blast for the audience to view and for the MHS Thespian Society to perform.
Directed by Mrs. Bill, The Drowsy Chaperone featured Collin Schroeder, Hannah Ryan, Brandon Armentrout, and Makenzie Jackey-Mast in the leading roles, along with a slew of other MHS students in equally-as-important roles (including the Alltold’s own Geneva Denney-Moore and Hannah Graham). The cast of the Drowsy Chaperone was able to put on three fantastic performances this past Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - pouring their hearts and souls into each step and note. The cast wasn’t alone in this, however, as the extensive crew was behind the scenes (whether onstage or off, in the orchestra pit or in the sound booth), giving the musical everything else it needed.
Congratulations to the Mishawaka High School Thespian Society for putting on yet another fantastic show this year! We can’t wait to see what comes next.
