Rivalry Revistited



Tuesday April 12th the girls track team headed to Penn. The meet started off with field events. The first event to take place was long jump. Rylin Bargarus placed 2nd with 16’02”. At Pole vault Ceci Taylor placed 1st with a height of 8’ 06”. Throwing disc was Devon Miller with 93’ 04” to get 1st. Brittney Hosler threw 92’ 05” to get 2nd. Cameron Schultheis threw 86’ 03” to get 4th. Devon stated how it felt to be throwing disc so well as a freshman and she replied, “It comes naturally. I just have to focus and try my hardest. I’m glad to have the privilege to be on varsity.” Devon’s personal record as a freshman is 101’03”. In high jump Asia Salazar took first place with a 4’ 10” jump. In the 4x800 relay Damaris Wyant, Kiera Pelletier, Haley Smith, and Inobia Bullock ran a 11:06 and got 2nd. Jumping the 100m hurdles was Precious Trejo who ran a 18.20 and received 2nd. Also Kerri Clark ran for a 19.50 and received 4th. Sprinting the 100m dash was Jada Graham, who took the place of the injured Alexis Jackey, she ran a 13.40 and placed 4th. Dei Smith ran a 13.70 and placed 4th. In the 1600m Jessica Duvall took 1st with 5:24. Faith Quintana took 4th with 5:42. In the 4x100 relay team Precious Trejo, Jada Graham, Gabi Reinoehl, and Dei Smith placed 2nd with 54.30. Running the girls 400m was Inobia Bullock with a time of 1:05, she placed 4th. Running the girls 800, Jessica Duvall ran a 2:26 and received 3rd. Damaris Wyant ran a 2:36 to get 4th. In the 200m Jada Graham ran a 28.50 and placed 4th. The distance 3200m was ran by Faith Quintana who placed 1st with 12:09. Lastly the 4x400m team of Inobia Bullock, Jessica Duvall Rylin Bargarus, and Madision Kreil finished 2nd with 4:22.

Though the girls had a decent meet but unfortunately they came up short, losing 80-44. Come to the varsity Penn invite to see the Cavemen face their rivals again and try to redeem themselves. The meet will be Saturday April 23 and starts at 9:45am. The meet will be at Penn. Good luck and go Cavemen!
