Three-point Shooting leads Cavemen to Victory

On Friday January 8th The Cave was jam packed. The rivalry between the Marian Knights and the Mishawaka Cavemen was about to take off! The pressure was building as the second game of the doubleheader was about to begin. Starting for the Cavemen were Seniors- Jordan Arch, Peyton Staples, and Sam Fry. Also on the hardwood were Juniors- Luke Shively and Devin Wakes. Arch led the team with 26 points, shooting 8-11 from behind the arc. We asked how he felt knowing he was having a great game, Arch said, “It felt great. It was a great win for our program and I was glad I could contribute to the victory.” Arch also continued to add, “It was an amazing turnout, from both schools fans. Our student body was amazing. They really brought a lot of energy to the game and made it very fun to play.” The game definitely was a brawl for both teams, the whole time the crowd was pumped and supportive with whatever was going on in the game. The first quarter got off to a fast start both teams were energized and ready to play. In the second quarter everyone was still filled with energy and seeing who would be ahead at half time. Some coaches believe the first half can decide the whole game, however, the second half can take a little more time to jump into. You could tell both teams gave their all in the first quarter and were petering out. Both teams battled back and forth throughout the entire game, it was a close one but the cavemen pulled out the win 67-59. Go support your Cavemen at Jimtown on Thursday, January 14th!
